Fantasy Fest is an annual, ten-day adult celebration in paradise. The party was founded in 1979 by a small group of Key West residents as a way to draw tourists to the island during a generally quiet yet lovely time of year. It succeeded. 

Since its start, Fantasy Fest has expanded yearly and is currently the wildest festival in Florida! Every year in October, fun-loving revelers from all over the world come to Key West for 10 days of excitement, parades, and fancy dress, bringing their creativity and ideas with them. This year, the festival will take place from October 21st until October 30th.

Choose Your Costume

Every year, Fantasy Fest revolves around a particular theme. The festival encourages attendees to wear extravagant and creative costumes that match this theme. This year, the festival’s theme is ‘Cult Classics and Cartoon Chaos’. Dress up as the main character from your favorite cult classic movie, or go as your favorite childhood cartoon character. 

Other Activities

The festival will feature a number of fun adult-themed activities for everyone to enjoy. There will be cabaret drag shows, body painting, a comedy musical, Karaoke, and even a history exhibit. There will be contests, food, drinks, and even celebrity guest appearances!

This year, Bud Light are the primary sponsors of Fantasy Fest. Beer lovers can even join in on the Bud Light Parade. The parade is bound to be the highlight of Fantasy Fest, where tens of thousands of onlookers will get to watch exuberant floats, crazy marching groups, bicycle brigades, and even human-powered kinetic devices.
