Orlando the City Beautiful

The City Beautiful, Orlando is more than just theme parks…

The city of Orlando is an excellent option to host your next event!

Orlando is a heavily populated city in Central Florida best known for its Universal and Disney Theme Parks.  However, there is much more to do in this thriving community. Florida in general is known by the rest of the United States as the Sunshine State.  To that fame, events can occur every month of the year.

With a football stadium that hosts the Citrus Bowl every year located on the west side of Downtown Orlando, sports stand as a major focal point for celebration for the month of January.  Around the same time, Winter Garden hosts a special Martin Luther King Day Celebration on Plant Street.  This event is only a mile north of West Colonial Drive (State Road 50) and offers fun for all age groups.

With many Universities in the Orlando Metropolitan Area, it is little surprise that there are plenty of occasions at these venues. From Basketball to art festivals, there is a little of everything that can be sampled from these locations.  Notable campuses include University of Central Florida, Stetson University, Rollins College, Valencia College, and Seminole State College.

The city of Orlando is large, but it is hardly the only town in this part of Florida with notable events.  Winter Park and Kissimmee are cities with their own sets of events that happen each year.

Winter Park has the old town feel in its downtown district.  The many shops, local stores mixed in with corporate brands, are all in a walkable area with cobblestone streets.  There are also multiple bike trails to explore and a multitude of parks, large and small scattered around the city.  Lakes dot the landscape hiding away new places to explore around each bend of the road. However, much of the action of Winter Park happens at its center park, known as Park Avenue.  Located in the very center of the downtown district, the open area plays host to concerts and major events on specific days of the year, but at all other times, this location is open to the public.

Kissimmee is much more than the place where individuals touring the theme parks go to get food.  This area is rich with its own culture which includes music festivals, large parks, and food/wine events.  A well-known park by the locales is Kissimmee Lakefront. This sprawling entry to nature revolves around a lake that is more than a square mile.  While famous more recently thanks to initial popularity of the phone game Pokémon Go, there is plenty to see at this park that does not involve looking at a phone screen.

The most notable feature of the Lake Front Park is the sheer amount of diverse wildlife that makes every single time a new experience.  Not far from this park is the downtown district of Kissimmee.  Though similar in appearance to Winter Park, this downtown district has a culture all to its own with its own unique brand of local stores and restaurants as well as a mixed feel between old and new age.

Returning to Orlando proper, the most well-known venue in downtown is Lake Eola.  Made famous by its fountain and the number of vigils that have been held there in recent memory, this city landmark made national news after the tragedy of Pulse.  Every Sunday, a farmer’s market makes an appearance here giving residents a chance to buy fresh local food.  For a quieter experience, one can try Dickson Azalea Park.  This venue is only a few miles away from Lake Eola but allows one to escape the much larger crowds present.

Many of the outdoor events in Orlando and the surrounding area find the need for portable restrooms that are a representation or extension of the luxury the event/venue has to offer.  Our luxury portable restrooms are designed to impress every guest. visit our website for more details www.ymlportablerestrooms.com
